Audit receipt: your State Farm car policy
Source: State Farm Texas Personal Auto Policy booklet, Form 9843C, 43 pages · processed 2026-07-29 · upgrade pass 2026-07-30 · language: EN
Auditor verdict: PASS. The 2026-07-30 upgrade pass added Pet Injury coverage, an explicit "add a new car within 20 days" action, and your appraisal right when you disagree on a payout, and removed a claims phone mnemonic the booklet does not print. All new facts are traced to the policy booklet, and every scope and truth check passes.

Reading grade

Reading grade: Flesch-Kincaid, crude syllable counter (marked as estimate). Baseline is conservative: the booklet's nested legal enumerations deflate the measured sentence length, so the true gap is larger. Reading Ease 48.0 to 70.3; passive share 14.6% to 6.2%. Word count rose from 1,574 to 1,833 in the 2026-07-30 upgrade, which added three new pieces of coverage; the grade held at 6.4 and reading ease improved.
What was done
- Led with what the policy IS: the rulebook for your coverage, with your personal limits and premium on the declarations page, not in the booklet - stated up front instead of discovered on page 30.
- Turned the "Insured's Duties" section into the action block: the five things to do after a crash, in order, with the notification duties the policy actually imposes.
- Surfaced the two behaviors that can void coverage as a critical-tier warning instead of buried conditions.
- Rebuilt the coverage alphabet (A, D, R, S...) as plain-words cards; the full exclusions list kept complete inside expanders.
- Split three 38-55 word coverage sentences that failed the writing gate on first measurement (recorded, not hidden).
- Removed a claims phone number the booklet does not print (audit catch); replaced with the booklet-supported route: your insurance card or declarations page.
Upgrade pass, 2026-07-30
- Added Pet Injury coverage to the "damage to your own car" area: Comprehensive and Collision pay vet costs, and replacement cost if the pet dies, up to $1,000 per animal and $2,000 per loss (booklet page 24). This is a perk the reader would not otherwise know about.
- Made the 20-day new-car window an explicit action, not a passive fact: "within 20 days of buying a car, ask State Farm to add it" now appears as an amber act-now callout and in the deadlines list, because the free coverage ends on the 20th day.
- Added your appraisal right: if you and State Farm disagree on what your car damage is worth, either side can request an appraisal, each hires an appraiser, and the two pick a third whose signed amount settles it (booklet page 25).
- Removed a residual "1-800-SF-CLAIM" mnemonic from the footer; the booklet prints no phone number of any form, so the page now points only to your own card and declarations.
- Scope check: conditional amounts are marked "up to"; the racing and rideshare exclusions keep the source's own wording (rideshare keeps its share-the-expense carve-out, racing carries none).
- No calculator was added: every dollar figure in the booklet is a flat cap, not a formula the reader computes, so a calculator would only repeat a number. No special-cases expander was needed: the booklet has no cohort with distinct rights.
